What is Flexbifire® used for?

The Flexbifire® is designed for the fire safety requalification or the construction of new ventilation ducts for civil and industrial buildings. It can also be used for the fire protection of metal pipes and is easily adaptable to straight, curved or lateral, upper or lower branch pipes.

  • Composition: felt made from mineral fibres and non-biopersistent alkaline fibres.
  • Protection: special dust-proof glass fabric called Glastex.
  • Supply: flexible mattresses.
  • Weight per square meter: 6 Kg +/- 15%.
  • Thickness: 40 mm + 15 – 5 mm.
  • Dimensions: 2,000 x 1200 x 40mm, including 200mm joint cover lip.
  • Conductivity at 10 °C: 0.035 W/mK.
  • Conductivity at 200 °C: 0.05 W/mK.
  • Conductivity at 400 °C: 0.09 W/mK.
  • Pose: wrapping of the pipe or ventilation duct.
  • Fixing: Bifire steel wire with a pitch of 333 mm.
  • Joint cover lip: 200 mm wide and to be overlapped with the adjacent mat along its entire length, secured by an additional round of Bifire steel wire.
  • Cut: can be done as desired with normal cutters.
  • Wall and slab crossings: laying a second layer of Flexbifire® with the joint lip facing the element to be crossed.
  • Fixing in crossings: the joint cover lip must be fixed to the wall using metal expansion plugs.
